Scope and Content In addition to a number of small pocket sketchbooks, the collection includes three folders of original watercolor drawings for Mr. Balcomb's "Schetsboek," a humorous memoir of a 1954 trip through Europe. Katherine J. Balcomb, wife of Kenneth C., contributed the handwritten receipts for sales of slaves, the cotton inventories, a South Carolina Railroad Company receipt and a handbill advertising the "Fair of the Carolinas."
