Robert W. Frazer was born in Sacramento, CA, on December 19, 1911. He earned his A.B. degree in 1936, his M.A. degree in history in 1940, and his Ph.D. in 1941, all from the University of California Los Angeles. He taught at Adams State College (Alamosa, Colorado), the University of Wichita (Kansas) [Wichita State University], and the California State University in Long Beach, CA. He retired from there in 1975 as a Professor of History Emeritus.

Scope and Contents Photographs and some negatives collected by Frazer during his career, mainly family photographs, travel photographs of the Southwest and Mexico, forts, and photos of friends, and places.

Scope and Content The collection consists of personal papers (financial, family letters, retirement papers, health papers) and research material used by Robert Frazer for his publications, including transcribed copies of letters received by the U.S. Army Dept. in New Mexico (1850s - 1860s) and information on military history and forts in New Mexico and its economic impact.
