Biographical / Historical

The Escuela Nacional de Medicina was founded Nov. 28, 1833 as the Establecimiento de Ciencias Médicas. It became the Escuela de Medicina on Jan. 1, 1842 and changed its name to the Escuela Nacional de Medicina on July 25, 1845. On June 1, 1914, it became the Facultad de Medicina of the Universidad Nacional.
