Scope and Content New Mexico Highlands University, originally established as New Mexico Normal School, began operation in 1893. This collection contains the minutes of the meetings of the Board of Regents of the institution since that year, plus related material. All the records are arranged chronologically.

Scope and Content This collection contains papers pertaining to the faculty and faculty governance at New Mexico Highlands University. A faculty governance structure emerged at the university in 1931. Minutes of general faculty meetings exist from that date forward. A faculty committee structure also developed in 1931, with the formation of an Administrative Council. Subsequently this representative faculty body was known as the Policy Committee and, then, the Faculty Senate.

New Mexico Highlands University Centers Collection

Scope and Content During the 1970s the university maintained an off-campus center in Taos, New Mexico. It subsequently closed. In the mid-1990s the university began to open other centers. By 1998 it operated at four locations: Rio Rancho, Santa Fe, Farmington, and Española.
