Archives Collection
The New Mexico Highlands University Archives was established in October 2000. The archive is housed in the Thomas C. Donnelly Library. This collection contains materials related to the founding and administration of the archives.
Athletics Collection
The university has fielded teams in a variety of sports since its founding. This collection is comprised primarily of seasonal brochures for various sports.
Board of Regents Collection
New Mexico Highlands University, originally established as New Mexico Normal School, began operation in 1893. This collection contains the minutes of the meetings of the Board of Regents of the institution since that year, plus related material. All the records are arranged chronologically.
A comprehensive list of the members of the Board of Regents, with some limited biographical information, is located in Box 1, Folder 1.

Faculty Collection
This collection contains papers pertaining to the faculty and faculty governance at New Mexico Highlands University. A faculty governance structure emerged at the university in 1931. Minutes of general faculty meetings exist from that date forward. A faculty committee structure also developed in 1931, with the formation of an Administrative Council. Subsequently this representative faculty body was known as the Policy Committee and, then, the Faculty Senate.
Human Resources Office Collection
The Human Resources Office administers all non-academic job-related concerns for university employees. Affirmative Actions and Disability Services also fall within its purview.
This collection includes employee handbooks, faculty-staff directories, Affirmative Action Plans, and various reports, notices, and information on training programs.
New Mexico Highlands University Centers Collection
During the 1970s the university maintained an off-campus center in Taos, New Mexico. It subsequently closed. In the mid-1990s the university began to open other centers. By 1998 it operated at four locations: Rio Rancho, Santa Fe, Farmington, and Española.
This collection contains materials relating to the creation and operation of some of the centers.
